Harvest Time: How to Clean and Store Your Bounty 🌽
The best part of gardening is, of course, the harvest! But you’ll need to know how to clean, store, and preserve your crops for the long haul. Here’s what I use for a quick and easy harvest season.
1. Stainless Steel Wash Bowl
I use a stainless steel wash bowl to clean all my produce. It’s durable and large enough to hold a variety of vegetables at once.
2. Organic Fruit & Vegetable Wash
To get rid of any dirt or pesticides, I soak my vegetables in an organic fruit & vegetable wash before storing them. It’s a gentle yet effective way to clean your harvest.
3. Freezer Bags
For longer storage, I chop and freeze most of my vegetables in Ziplock freezer bags. Tomatoes, peppers, and okra are all great for freezing. Don’t forget to label them with a Sharpie to keep track of what’s inside!
